SNAP/ Food Stamp Volunteers

Cassandra SNAP quote

You can help our neighbors receive the benefits they need to have food on the table.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – formerly known as “food stamps” – provides food assistance to more households than any other program.  At Just Harvest, we help our neighbors overcome the bureaucratic hurdles in the application process, such as getting their paperwork together and contacting a caseworker.

SNAP Program Volunteers:

  • assist with scanning and faxing documents for clients;
  • follow up with clients as they continue through the application process;
  • enter results data into a database.

Time Commitment:  We are seeking volunteers for weekday hours (9am-6pm) who can commit to 3 hours each week.

Training: provided on a one-on-one basis with each volunteer.
