Take Action to Change Public Policy

Ending hunger means changing politics. Speak up, and let your representatives in government know how you feel. Demand action. Hunger and poverty are political choices, together we can end them! Democracy is strongest when constituents speak their mind. Call your representatives to account, ask that they act on the behalf of the poor and the hungry. Your calls, letters, and emails make a difference!

Our current political action priorities include:

  •  Call your Congress person and tell them to get Child Nutrition Reauthorization moving soon. Tell your senators to co-sponsor SB 990 and all your representatives to support universal meals. To learn more about how stronger Child Nutrition programs fit into the national effort to end child hunger visit FRAC's endingchildhunger2015.org.
  • Call your state senator and representative. Tell them to fund the State Food Purchase Program at $24 million, the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program at $3.5 million, PA Agriculture Surplus System at $1 million, and Health Farms/Healthy Schools at $1 million.
