Internships at Just Harvest offer a unique, hands-on learning opportunity for college students and graduates to learn more about hunger, public policy, and non-profits while making an impact in our community. Interns will gain meaningful experience and have opportunities to develop their basic abilities, further refine advanced skills and enhance their career goals.

Fresh Access

Fresh Access Community Outreach and Events Internship

Our Fresh Access program equips farmers markets to accept food stamp benefits, and we are working to get the word out! We’re looking for an intern to help us coordinate events at markets, implement our community-based marketing strategy, and connect with organizations, schools, and places of worship about distributing materials, hosting a speaker, and/or coordinating services.

Community Organizing Internship

Client perspectives and participation are a key component to the effectiveness of our advocacy efforts. The Organizing and Engagement Intern will create opportunities for food stamp and tax clients to share their experiences and voice their concerns about public safety-net programs, encourage clients and other community members to participate in current advocacy campaigns and community meetings, work on voter registration and pledge-to-vote drives and help with research and writing.

Communications and Education Internship

Educating and engaging the broader community enables Just Harvest to more effectively combat hunger and poverty in our region. We’re looking for an intern to assist with the coordination and facilitation of poverty simulations, work with outreach volunteers to distribute materials about Just Harvest services, develop publication and social media strategies, and contact organizations, schools, and places of worship about distributing materials, hosting a speaker, and/or coordinating services.

EITC extra money to help stretch your paycheck on a grocery bagTax Preparation Internship

The Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit lift more working families out of poverty than any other program. However, to access the credit, many low-income families pay hundreds of dollars in tax prep fees. As an intern at one of our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites, you will prepare accurate tax returns for low-income families and individuals, ensuring that they receive all credits that they are eligible for without paying any preparation fees.
