Call-In-Day: Prevent SNAP Skimming
Call the Governor’s Office to Prevent SNAP Theft in this year’s State Budget!
More than $17 million in SNAP benefits have been stolen from financially struggling families since 2022, who are left with no options for reimbursement or recourse. The Governor and State Legislature can address this problem by investing in secure, chip-enable EBT cards. By investing $7 million in the state budget this year for secure EBT cards and equipment, the Governor can protect families from having their SNAP benefits stolen and going hungry.
The Governor’s budget proposal will be released on Feb 3rd. We are calling the Governor’s office TODAY and urging them to Protect SNAP Benefits/Prevent SNAP Theft in the State Budget by investing in secure chip-enabled EBT cards.
