The Farm Bill is potentially headed to the House floor for a vote as early as next week. Right now, we must urgently tell House Members to vote “NO.” The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 fails to reverse the deeply damaging $187 billion in SNAP cuts from H.R.1, as well as other harmful changes that will further weaken the program.

Allegheny County Health Department has proposed Paid Parental Leave (Article XXIV) – which would require a minimum of 18 weeks leave to parents who have been employees for at least 30 days. A public comment period is now open. The Senate must now reject the House version of the Farm bill and prioritize legislation that protects families struggling to keep food on the table.
