Take Action: Protect PA Families from SNAP Theft
Hundreds of millions have been stolen from EBT households as SNAP theft remains a growing crisis across the country. The Pennsylvania Office of State Inspector General has received more than 5,100 reports of SNAP benefits theft totaling nearly $2.5 million in stolen benefits due to skimming. But today, we have one way you can take action to make a difference for families. The PA House recently unanimously passed HB 2540 – which would support the transition to chip-enabled EBT cards. Now, support is needed in the Senate.
Take Action: Submit Comments - Paid Parental Leave
There is one week left to submit a public comment in support of Paid Parental Leave for the people of Allegheny County. Submit your comment by 11:59 on June 16th. Allegheny County Health Department has proposed Paid Parental Leave (Article XXIV) – which would require a minimum of 18 weeks leave to parents who have been employees for at least 30 days.
