Take Action: Tell PA Leaders to Pass a State Budget
The federal government is still shutdown, and essential funding is on hold until Congress takes action. Here in Pennsylvania —without a state budget — we are also missing state funding for critical programs.
The state budget is over 100 days late, and we cannot wait any longer. Billions in payments have been delayed — including funding for education and healthcare Pennsylvanians deserve and rely on.
Use the tool above from MomsRising, and see below for their breakdown of critical funding in the budget:
“Funding for education, including:
$526 in adequacy and equity funding for schools
$75 million in basic education funding
$15 million to increase the reimbursement rates in the Pre-K Counts program
$14.3 million for Early Intervention
$100 million for school safety -- including mental health funding for schools
Cyber charter school funding reform that is projected to save school districts $378 million
Increasing the minimum wage.
And funding the healthcare Pennsylvanians so desperately need, including the $21.2 billion for Human Services programs proposed in the Governor's budget, which includes funding to offset the impact of changes in federal funding to programs like Medicaid.”
Demand a budget now that serves everyone in Pennsylvania.
