Join friends and neighbors on Sunday, March 15th 2026 at Rodef Shalom Congregation for a friendly, informal meal of local chef-created soups, tasty breads and treats. Guests will have the option of dining with other community members in Rodef Shalom’s ballroom or enjoying their soup at home. Featured Art Activity

Imprint: Holding Space Through Clay

This year, we are thrilled to have an amazing art activity for Empty Bowl guests to take part in! Read below to learn more about the project.

Imprint: Holding Space Through Clay is a participatory, community-based art project by the International Sculpture Center that invites individuals from around the world to press their thumbprint into clay and to engage in the simple, embodied act of squeezing and shaping the material.

The resulting clay forms, created by participants from diverse communities and geographic locations, will be gathered and sent to the International Sculpture Center, where they will be assembled into a single installation. Together, these objects form a material representation of humanity in shared space, an accumulation of presence, touch, and care.

This project is led by Laura Jean McLaughlin, International Sculpture Center’s first Member Artist-in-Residence at the ISC Gallery in Pittsburgh. The project coincides with the Ceramics as Sculpture exhibition, March 27 – June 26, at the ISC Gallery.
