Just Harvest Appoints Heather Seiders as Permanent Executive Director
Just Harvest is proud to announce the appointment of Heather Seiders as Executive Director. As the organization celebrates 40 years in the fight for food justice, Seiders steps into the role at a time of heightened economic insecurity – as safety net programs face changes and cuts that restrict critical access for low-income families.
“Throughout Heather’s deep history with Just Harvest, she has continuously found new pathways for growth – building organizational systems and capacity, establishing new avenues for fundraising and community engagement, and now stepping into leadership to guide the organization with keen coordination, collaboration, stabilization, and innovation.” said Paul Seif, Board President of Just Harvest.
With over 15 years of dedicated service at Just Harvest, Seiders has brought a wealth of knowledge into her position of Interim Executive Director over the last year. Leading the organization through a rapidly changing policy landscape, Seiders's strategic leadership meaningfully centers the needs of low-income families with forward-thinking solutions.
Previously serving as Director of Engagement, she led critical fundraising growth, streamlined operations, and deepened community partnerships to advance the organization’s mission. With a longstanding commitment to addressing hunger at its root causes, Seiders's extensive experience and innovative vision will lead the organization during this pivotal time.
“We’re at a moment where access to basic needs like food and benefits is becoming more politicized and complicated. Our role is to cut through that to make systems more accessible and more responsive, while continuing to advocate for the policy changes that make lasting impact possible” said Heather Seiders, Executive Director at Just Harvest.
Since 1986, Just Harvest has helped put over 100 million dollars in tax refunds back into the pockets of low income families, connected thousands of people to essential benefits, and invested in local food access solutions that connect communities to affordable local produce.
Seiders’s appointment follows the retirement of longstanding Executive Director, Ken Regal, who retired in July of 2025. In this next chapter, Just Harvest will continue to work alongside partners to advocate for policies and programs that keep our communities healthy, nourished, and protected.
