Stand Against a Farm Bill that Fails to Reverse Harmful SNAP Cuts
The Farm Bill is potentially headed to the House floor for a vote as early as next week. Right now, we must urgently tell House Members to vote “NO.” The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 fails to reverse the deeply damaging $187 billion in SNAP cuts from H.R.1, as well as other harmful changes that will further weaken the program.

The Impact of H.R.1
SNAP serves as the number one defence against hunger. In 2024, 2 million Pennsylvania residents, or 1 in 7 people relied on SNAP, with almost 58% of participants in families with children (Center on Budget and Policy Priorities).
According to FRAC, “SNAP participation has declined by approximately 3.3. Million people” over the last year across the U.S. Funding cuts and changes to the program mean less children, older adults, veterans, people with disabilities, and families without essential support.
Data shared from PA DHS shows that more than 5,000 of our neighbors in Allegheny County have already lost SNAP benefits due to the rule changes in H.R.1.
Your voice is needed today as our representatives make crucial decisions that will impact the well being of communities across our nation. Urge House Members to vote “NO” against a Farm Bill that fails to protect people from hunger.
